Who this is for

Export managers and owner-led producers who already sell domestically — or already ship to one market — and need a clear answer to “where next?” before committing inventory, travel, or a distributor retainer.

Result you can take to the board

A written Market Entry Pathway covering:

  • A ranked shortlist of three markets with demand, access, and competitive notes for your category
  • A recommended channel model (importer, specialist distributor, or controlled direct retail)
  • A compliance outline tied to product type, typical labelling triggers, and documentation for first entry
  • A 90-day pilot plan: sample shipments, buyer meetings, and decision gates

Included

  • Kick-off workshop (in person at our Auckland office or by video)
  • Desk research using trade statistics, tariff schedules, and publicly available retailer/importer lists
  • Two progress reviews with your nominated decision-makers
  • Final pathway document and a live walkthrough session

Excluded

  • Legal drafting of distribution agreements (we can brief your counsel)
  • Paid media or brand campaigns
  • Acting as your importer of record
  • Ongoing sales representation after the pathway is delivered

How we work

  1. Fit call — confirm product category, current export footprint, and constraints (budget, capacity, certifications).
  2. Evidence gather — you share pack specs, certifications, price bands, and any prior overseas feedback.
  3. Market scoring — we score candidate markets on access, logistics realism, and channel fit.
  4. Pathway delivery — you receive the document and a working session to choose the pilot market.

Preparation

Have your HS codes (or a clear product description), current FOB/ex-works pricing, and any existing certifications ready. If you have notes from a previous trade show or failed distributor trial, bring those too — they sharpen the scoring.

Constraints

We specialise in New Zealand exporters looking toward Australia, ASEAN, and Pacific Island markets. Requests outside that corridor are considered case by case and may require a different fee basis.
